It is a park day. Mum helps Nina with her shoes, Mama jingles the yellow lead by the door, and off they all go for an afternoon in the sunshine.
There is a slide to whoosh down and swings to fly on, a squirrel that stops Bally in his tracks, wildflowers full of butterflies, and a snack on the bench before a big, happy run across the grass. On the way home, past Hammersmith Bridge, a ginger cat gives Bally something to think about, and the day ends with a bedtime story and one very sleepy greyhound.
Nina happens to have two mums, and the story happens to be about the park, because both are simply part of ordinary life. It is a book made for every family to see a little of themselves in.
